Ricks RC Racing Top Ten!

Welcome to Ricks RC Racing! This is a list of simple rules that EVERYBODY MUST follow to insure the safety of everyone around the track AND THAT INCLUDES YOU. If you are caught breaking these rules, you can be asked to leave the property and told not to return. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Although not every base is covered, there is one simple rule that if followed, is fool proof.

Rule #1 DON’T BE AN IDIOT!
Although the RC's we run here are small, they can also be dangerous. Some racers have vehicles that go in EXCESS of 60 MPH! That’s a lot of velocity. While on the track, you are expected to run in one direction at all times unless directed by race directors. If you damage someone else’s vehicle while driving in the wrong direction, YOU are responsible for the damages if any.

Rule #2 Watch out for Turn Marshals
This is a simple rule to follow. The turn marshals are out there for YOU. Show some respect by not roosting them with dirt and FOR PETE’S SAKE if your vehicle is upside down, HIT THE BRAKES. Turn marshals are instructed to NOT turn your car over if the wheels are turning. I can speak for everyone and say that knuckles and fingernails are allergic to 40 mph spinning tires. If your car can not stay running for 15 to 20 seconds on its lid, GET SOME TUNING!

Rule #3 Obey the Race Directors
The race directors are there to insure a fair race with safety in mind. All of our race directors are experienced and well qualified to handle this task.If a race director tells you to pull off the track (black flag) you are expected to do so without question! A reason will be given after the race has ended. The race director cannot ensure a safe race for others if he is explaining racing 101 to you in the pits.

Rule #4 Frequency Responsibility
This rule should be number 1! There are only 42 channels we can run. The probability of someone elserunning the same channel is HIGH. When arriving at the track, report to covered area to get your frequency clip. This high tech device will save your truck. It’s just $.10 laundry clip with a frequency number on it but is very effective. If you are found without a clip while running your machine, you will be asked to turn your radio in a track official (radio impound). If your radio frequency is not available, a track official will assist you in finding the person who does and a deal can be made at this time. ALSO NO Kind Of Radio Control Vehicle Is To Be RUNNING IN FRONT OR ON THE SIDE OF THE PLAZA AT ANYTIME!!! That Is Why We Have A Track! WE ARE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS RULE! RADIO HORSEPLAY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! If you break rule 4, YOU are responsible for all damages to other vehicles or track property! Or YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY!

Rule #5 Track Respect
Everyone is responsible for keeping his/her pit area clean. It should be left as clean or cleaner then when you arrived. There are trash cans throughout the pit area, use them. Also, there is a Speed Limit! This sounds pretty funny considering. Full size vehicles are restricted to 5 MPH. If you are caught breaking this speed limit, you will be asked to LEAVE the property within 1 minute!

Rule #5 NO Alcohol
Also a BIG NO-NO Alcohol!! There will be NO drinking alcoholic beverages on the track property. If you are caught drinking while registered to race, you will be disqualified from the race and forfeit your race entry. There is no room for that nonsense at Ricks. Also, if one of your pit crew is caught drinking, you run the risk of forfeit! Also use caution when entering and exiting the drivers stand. Use the Hand Rail for assistance and PLEASE, Drivers ONLY in Drivers stand. That’s why we call it the Drivers Stand.

Rule #6 No Snooping
We have had some reports of things growing legs and walking out of pit boxes in the past. This will result in criminal charges and immediate expulsion from the track IMMEDIATELY! We have a few racers who are police officers and would LOVE to bring a thief to jail. Also, if you keep your pit area clean and keep your tools out of sight, snooping hands won’t steal what they can’t see. Basically, lock your stuff up, it’s safer like that.

Rule #7 Turn Marshaling KNOW YOUR ROLE
Everyone MUST turn marshal! After your heat race, you are required to turn in your transponders and radios, then turn marshal the next race. We are not a babysitting service. If you are caught not reporting to a turn marshal position when required, a 2 lap penalty will be enforced on your best heat race or final. This could mean the difference in winning and losing. We call all turn marshals to the track as a group. We will not call individual names to report. If you are physically incapable of safely turn marshalling, LET US KNOW. We will find a suitable substitute. Therefore, you must notify us of this BEFORE the next race. How can we know????

Rule #8 Time To Race
There will be 5 mins between Heats and Mains. We will have a 20 min break between Heat and Main to set up the Mains. With only 1, 1min call per race.

Rule #9 Cursing
This is a hard one, for almost everyone. There are a lot of spectators that can hear every word spoken in the drivers stand. If you are reported or heard using foul language, 2 laps will be deducted from your best heat or final. Refer to rule 7 for description of penalty.

Rule #10 Disclaimer
Because of the nature of this sport, Ricks RC Racing cannot be held responsible for any damages or injuries sustained on Ricks RC Racing property. Basically, you’re on your own. If you see any unsafe act on the property, report it to a track official and it will be addressed. Safety is everyone’s responsibility and should be taken seriously. We encourage and practices safe acts. We expect our members to do the same.

I hate rules too, but I have seen that we need a few just to help. I started this track so that everyone would have a Good Place to come to have fun without any hassle.
